The winner of this category will be someone who has successfully achieved (or surpassed!) either the communication goals set by the client or someone who has delivered real change in terms of awareness (e.g. of an issue) or legislative amendments.
Judges will be looking for a freelancer who has been able to provide strategic insight, creative input, exceptional implementation and results - someone who displays a genuine understanding of their role.
The PR/communication goals may relate to quantity or value of media coverage, increases in internal or external audience awareness, changes of consumer habit, sales increases, issues and crisis management. On the public affairs side the judges will be looking for some great ideas when implementing campaigns and some originality i.e. beyond the classic off-the-peg parliamentary awareness raising campaign such as a letter in the broadsheets, a new all party parliamentary group and a parliamentary reception.
Areas included are Public Relations (PR), Media Relations, Internal Communications, External Communications, Stakeholder Communications, Investor and Analyst relations, Public Affairs, Political Communication, Lobbying, Government Communication and Policy.
The winner of PR, Communications & Public Affairs will be a successful freelancer because they have demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, insight, customer focus, the commitment to add real value to their clients business and generally adopt a ‘best practice’ approach to their work.
