Vikki Rimmer - Overall Winner and winner of the PR, Communications & Public Affairs category 2009.

Vikki beat more than 200 entrants and 48 finalists to take the overall title, having been victorious in the PR, Communications & Public Affairs category earlier in the evening.

Vikki won the award for her work for Ed Stafford and his bid to become the first man to walk the length of the Amazon River, from source to sea, to raise awareness of climate change and to educate in schools.

Commenting on Vikki’s achievement, Awards Judge Suzanne Peck of Sequel Group said she chose Vikki specifically, “for her innovative and tenacious approach to securing publicity and funding for her client”.  Vikki’s client, Ed Stafford said, “She is creative and innovative...and I trust her completely. She is irreplaceable as far as I'm concerned." 

Commenting on her win Vikki said, “'I'm thrilled to be recognised in Xchangeteam’s Freelancer of The Year Awards and especially pleased to win for my client Ed who's still endeavouring to walk the length of the Amazon River.  Ed and I exchanged emails over the weekend and he's read all about the awards online from the jungle.  He's raised a glass of muddy water from the river and I've raised a glass of champagne back!
