Welcome to Xchangeteam’s Freelancer of the Year Awards 2009, the only Awards in the UK dedicated to that unsung hero of Marketing, Media and Communications – the freelancer.

Following the success of last year, 2009 will see the event’s sixth year and one that promises to be our most successful yet!

Freelance consultants too often go unrecognised for the sterling work they do, overlooked as fellow team members bask in the glory of a successful campaign.  For this reason Xchangeteam created the Awards in 2003 – so that the very best could be showcased and celebrated and their contribution recognised.

An eminent array of judges from the marketing, media and communications community will select six category winners and one overall winner.  The prizes will then be handed out at our Awards ceremony in a top London venue in March 2010.

So, if you want to nominate someone you've hired or someone you've worked with - or even nominate yourself – just fill in our online nomination form.  The prestige that accompanies these Awards guarantees a real boost to the profiles of the lucky winners, so if you know someone who deserves genuine recognition don’t delay!

Last year’s winner, designer Anna Cowie, commented on winning the title:
